The Role
As a Business Analyst / Product Owner - GenAI, you will work at the intersection of business, technology, and innovation, acting as the bridge between stakeholders, compliance teams, and engineering squads.
You will contribute to a strategic GenAI transformation initiative in the insurance sector, ensuring that business needs are accurately translated into delivery-ready requirements while maintaining alignment with regulatory and governance standards.
Job location: 90% Remote (Europe-based) / 10% On-site in Cologne, Germany
Contract type: Employee or Contractor
Target start date: July
Working hours: Full-time (40h/week)

Compensation:
- Portugal: Annual Gross Salary Between €40,000 to €55,000
- Spain: Annual Gross Salary Between €50,000 to €65,000
- B2B Contractor: between €280 to €380/day

Your Impact
In this role, you will:
- Gather and document business and functional requirements
- Translate business needs into clear, delivery-ready backlog items
- Manage and prioritise the product backlog in alignment with business objectives
- Coordinate with business, compliance, and IT stakeholders
- Ensure documentation aligns with regulatory frameworks (e.g. DORA)
- Support Agile planning and delivery processes
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams
- Define acceptance criteria and support UAT activities
- Monitor delivery to ensure alignment with business goals and transformation objectives

What We're Looking For
Must-haves
- 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Functional Consultant
- Previous experience in enterprise transformation programs
- Strong experience in business analysis and/or product ownership
- Proven experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Strong requirements engineering and documentation capabilities
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Structured mindset with focus on governance and documentation quality
- Ability to bridge technical and business teams effectively
- Fluent in German and English
- Must be a Portuguese or European citizen, or hold a valid work permit for Portugal
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the insurance industry
- Exposure to GenAI transformation projects
- Understanding of AI governance and compliance frameworks
- Experience in process optimisation and business transformation initiatives
