AlvarezandMarsal.com.The role:A&M is looking for a German speaking legal counsel to be based in London. The candidate will be responsible for legal matters across the UK and Europe. This role provides the opportunity to undertake a varied commercial in-house role with responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions.
Responsibilities:- Advise client-facing teams on the drafting and negotiation of engagement letters, confidentiality and ancillary engagement related agreements
- Advise in relation to key risk management and compliance issues facing the business
- Assist the HR department with employment matters
- Manage litigation
- Assist with drafting and negotiation of other commercial contracts, including supplier agreements
Qualifications:- You will have 4-8 years PQE and experience of working in-house
- Qualified to practice law in Germany, Switzerland or Austria; qualification to practice law in England & Wales / Scotland or NI would be beneficial
- An understanding of the complex legal challenges inherent to professional services firms is desirable but not essential
- Fluency in spoken and written business English and German is essential
