The Role & What You Will Be Doing Are you an experienced payroll or finance specialist with a good understanding of German benefits in kind (BIK)? We are seeking an experienced, detailed oriented and proactive Senior Payroll Tax Specialist to manage and oversee the payroll taxation of the German Benefits in Kind processesThis role ensures full compliance with German tax and labor law regulations and serves as a subject matter expert on payroll related benefits and fringe taxation. You will collaborate with many departments including HR, Finance (e.g. AP, VAT, Tax team) and external payroll provider to ensure accurate, timely and compliant processing of BIK.

Senior Payroll Tax Specialist role will make an impact:
- Within the Payroll department own and coordinate the end-to-end payroll aspect of the Benefits in Kind processes, including company cars, meals, events and other taxable/nontaxable benefits
- Collect, organize and review payroll benefit in kind invoices and inputs from various internal sources, to ensure accurate processing during the month, consolidate them by the payroll closing and share it with the payroll provider and managing system updates if required
- Checking the monthly payroll output file prepared by the payroll service provider, processing necessary changes and sending the final, checked and accurate payroll data for approval in term of BIK
- Create and validate BIK calculations and ensure correct taxation according to German tax regulations
- Handling all payroll benefit in kind related queries coming from the employees or other stakeholders during the month.
- Daily cooperation and collaboration with the vendor and external stakeholders
- Lead internal reviews and support external audits regarding benefits, taxation and payroll accuracy
- Review annual tax changes, applying them into daily work and arranges discussion with the payroll services provider if needed
- Identify implement and document process improvements for BIK workflows and payroll interfaces
- Collaborating with contact departments. Work closely with the Accounts Payable Team, Tax Team, VAT team, Events management team and the cost center owners of the business to be able to collect all tax relevant input required for the tax evaluation
- Check accounting files to finance to ensure BIK is correct
- Participate in special projects and other payroll duties as assigned
About Your Skills & Experience For this role, we're looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree preferably field (or equivalent) and minimum of 3 years of experience in similar field, however, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration
- Strong knowledge of BIK Germany and good understanding of German payroll/tax
- Knowledge of payroll and finance applications, particularly in shared service operations such SAP or Loga P&I is required
- Must possess a strong focus on customer service with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of management and external vendors via multiple sources such as telephone, email, etc.
- Must possess the ability to learn and retain information related to HR Programs, Policies and Procedures
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple priorities that requires decision-making capabilities
- Strong excel skills and ability to analyze and interpret and present data
- Open to learn other markets apart from BIK Germany
- English and German languages are required. Ability to read and interpret business and/or technical documents. Ability to work with managers or directors and communicate ambiguous concepts.
