German-Speaking Staff Electrical Engineer
System & Reliability Engineering (Manufacturing)
Build the electrical backbone of next-generation industrial automation.
As a Staff Electrical Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing, scaling, and hardening complex automation systems. This is a hands-on, senior-level role where deep electrical expertise meets system thinking, reliability engineering, and real manufacturing impact. From architecture to commissioning, your work will directly influence safety, performance, and long-term system robustness.
What you'll be working on
• Designing and developing electro-mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for advanced commissioning systems
• Shaping system architecture and translating requirements into reliable electrical solutions
• Creating and maintaining electrical schematics, cabinet designs, wiring harnesses, and bills of materials
• Selecting and specifying electrical components with reliability, safety, and compliance in mind
• Performing electro-mechanical calculations, simulations, and technical evaluations
• Collaborating closely with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional teams
• Driving system and reliability engineering practices across machine and plant systems
• Producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation (GDP)
• Supporting testing, initial sample inspections, and execution of test plans
• Applying quality and risk methods such as design reviews, DFMEA, and safety analyses
What you bring
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience
• Strong technical leadership with deep hardware expertise and broad system awareness
• Experience in system engineering and reliability engineering within industrial or manufacturing environments
• Solid hands-on experience with electrical design tools such as SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, or EPlan
• Knowledge of EMC, measurement technology, and the Machinery Directive
• Familiarity with EN 60204-1 and IEC 61010-1 standards
• Experience with risk assessment and safety analysis tools such as Safexpert and Sistema
• Structured, analytical working style with a strong drive to understand systems end-to-end
• Strong documentation skills and experience working within quality-driven environments
• Confident communicator and collaborative teammate
• Proficiency in English; German language skills are a strong plus
• Bonus points for experience with Jira, ERP systems (Sage), and MS Project
Why this role stands out
You'll operate at staff level, influencing technical direction rather than just executing tasks. This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership, complex systems, and building reliable automation that works in the real world-not just on paper.
