GL Accountant - German Speaker, Warsaw, Poland

We are looking for a detail-oriented GL Accountant to join our financial team in Warsaw. The purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate management of general ledger accounting, tax compliance, and expense management for mainly the emagine companies in Germany but can also work for different countries. The GL Accountant is responsible for financial closings, reconciliations, and tax filings and audits to ensure compliance with accounting regulations.

This role requires a structured and detail-oriented finance professional with experience in GL processes, financial reporting, and tax compliance within an international or shared service environment.

As a GL Accountant you will be part of a team of 4 accountants. Your main responsibilities will include all activities relating to day-to-day accounting topics in the area of general ledger accounting.

Location: Warsaw, Poland (hybrid)

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Perform bookings for local general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage and perform booking of OPEX-related invoices.
• Executing and overseeing internal expense management processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Execute period-end close activities, including preparing or verifying accruals adjustments, and reconciliations (including investigation of discrepancies) , to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Manage VAT reporting, and other relevant tax obligations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
• Collect, validate, and submit required financial data to national authorities and regulatory bodies.
• Cooperate with audit teams, providing necessary documentation and explanations to facilitate the audit process.

We expect:

• Min. 2 years' experience with focus on accounting and tax from global organization.
• German: mandatory professional proficiency.
• English: professional proficiency.
• Maintain high discipline and structure when working with financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting processes.
• Possess strong attention to detail while maintaining a clear overview of financial transactions and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrate adaptability and a growth mindset, quickly learning new processes, systems, and regulatory requirements in a dynamic environment.
