Position OverviewThe Kids Club & Recreation Team Leader directly supervises all the Kids Club & Recreation Attendants and other members of the team providing services for the children. He/she assists the Kids Club & Recreation Manager in overseeing the over-all operation of the Children Activities Centre to ensure a smooth running, responsive, highly personalized and efficient service for the participating children. In the absence of the Kids Club & Recreation Manager, he/she reports to the Director of Rooms or in the absence to the General Manager / Resort Manager.
The Role- Ensures that Children Activities Centre is neat and tidy at all times.
- Be an exemplary role model in inspiring colleagues through strong demonstration of the Patina Culture and Service Philosophy.
- Assist the Children Activities Manager to oversee and manage the daily operations of the Children Activities Centre and ensures that all colleagues comply with service standards, departmental policies and operating procedures set by the resort.
- Ensures that Children Activities Centre is neat and tidy at all times.
- Ensures a children attendant is present at arrivals and departures to meet and greet child /guests.
- Ensure all necessary welcome/invitation letters/cards, introduction letters and complimentary arrival kits are always available and ready at appropriate times, according to Children's Activities Centre's Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure all children are registered including; special diet, allergies, care needs are recorded, monitored & delivered appropriately.
- Carry out all activities in a safe manner with regard to children's learning and welfare needs
- Ensure children have adequate shade, water breaks and sunscreen.
- Carrying out first aid and completing accident forms as necessary.
- Ensures colleagues initiate, develop and maintain personalized relationships with guests and their children.
- Looks after guests (children) who need special attention with utmost care, accuracy and tolerance.
- Plans, organizes, and executes special events throughout the year to promote value to the guests during their stays at the Resort.
- Ensures and provides flawless, upscale, professional and high-class guest service experiences as a role model and expertise in all children-related matters.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the resort daily services, activities, promotion, and event. Effectively communicate and update all colleagues on any changes to ensure guests receive up-to-date information.
- Handle complaints and resolve service 'glitches' and keep a record of all feedbacks under the appropriate system. Ensures that the issues are resolved in a timely manner to guests' satisfaction.
- Foster a positive working environment for all colleagues and check in regularly to ensure colleague satisfaction and maintain strong working relationships within the team. Give praises and encouragements for good performances.
- Maintains strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues, serves as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support.
- Empower colleagues to take ownership and responsibility in going beyond to exceed guest expectations. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
- Monitor performances of colleagues and provide effective performance feedback for improvements, recognition and performance appraisal as due.
- Report any issue or damages and breakdowns within working areas and the resort to ensure a defect-free facilities and service amenities provided.
- Lead the daily line-up department meeting in absence of Children Activities Manager and constantly remind colleagues of the Patina Service Standards and Culture Philosophy.
- Drive high quality and consistency in standards to achieve mission, vision and goals set by the resort.
- Understand and strictly adhere to the policies and procedures established in the Colleagues Handbook.
- Adhere to the resort grooming standards including uniform dress code, cleanliness and personal hygiene.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities that are reasonable as assigned by the immediate manager.
Talent Profile Qualifications:- General education related to Child care / Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years' experiences in a similar position in luxury resort/hotel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent command in both written and spoken English.
- Self-starter, capable of handling multi-faceted projects and of working under pressure.
- Acute attention to details.
- Understands and respects local cultural, able to adapt to changing environment.
- Personable and pleasant to deal with. Discreet, reliable, diplomatic.
- Positive "can do" attitude and flexible approach manages with humility.
- High degree of integrity.
- Trained in administering First Aid, CPR and AED.Computer skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office.
