A Snapshot of Your DayIn your role as a Material Planner, you are responsible for material availability. Our suppliers are located either within the Siemens Energy High-Voltage Switchgear production network or externally on the global market. You are part of the Service Center Germany team, which - besides material management and the infrastructure of the production site - also oversees the coordination of a logistics service provider.
In this environment, you review data records of purchase requisitions and report their conversion into orders back to the requester. You receive order confirmations from suppliers, review them, and independently clarify discrepancies. You are in close communication with external and internal suppliers, internal customers, and your team colleagues.
How You Can Make an Impact- Identify requirements, create purchase requisitions, and process orders in SAP MM.
- Ensure timely material availability for service and project business.
- Communication includes close coordination with requesters, order processors, service teams, and project managers.
- Handle clarifications regarding deliveries, alternative materials, and logistical issues. During schedule tracking, you monitor relevant delivery dates.
- Initiate escalations with suppliers and the purchasing department and drive them to resolution.
- As part of inventory management, you analyze our stock levels, determine coverage, and adjust safety stocks.
- By contributing to optimization measures, you support our continuous improvement efforts, which also include data maintenance in SAP.
- Handle the invoice workflow and check invoice discrepancies in coordination with purchasing and suppliers.
What You Bring- Bachelor's degree in logistics, materials management, or a comparable field of study.
- Several years of professional experience in material planning, scheduling, or operational purchasing.
- Foreign languages: German and English at least at B2 level.
- Confident handling of SAP MM and MS Office
- Experience with AI tools/ data management applications is a plus.
