About the project
The QA engineer is a practitioner and an advocate of quality-focused software delivery practices, ensuring high quality of software products and services with an appropriate toolkit of technologies and methods and with a DevSecOps mindset. Working in an agile environment and keeping up with the ever-evolving technical landscape the Quality Engineer is a lifelong learner and likes to think outside the box.

Responsibilities

Mission

• Be a part of a cross-functional agile team or a practice team that promotes quality assurance best practices across the domain.

• Work closely with your team to deliver solutions that meet customers' needs and support the end-to-end quality of applications, from concept to release.

Take responsibility for the quality of the product by designing, executing, and improving manual testing processes, with attention to detail, documentation, and security aspects.

• Collaborate on defining and executing test strategies, ensuring thorough manual test coverage at all levels - functional, integration, and exploratory.

• Ensure the availability and relevance of test data and actively participate in identifying areas where manual testing is most effective.

• Help define quality measures for areas where automation has limitations, contributing to robust and reliable software delivery.

• Share your QA expertise with team members to foster continuous improvement and a quality-first mindset throughout the development lifecycle.

• Partner with Product Owners to ensure that requirements are clear, testable, and aligned with quality expectations.

• Support the team in identifying opportunities for improvement and elevating testing standards, tools, and practices.

• Contribute to discussions on process enhancements, tool evaluation, and QA-related initiatives across teams and domains.

Job Responsibilities• Collaborate closely with cross-functional agile teams to define, refine, and implement QA strategies and testing best practices.
• Design and execute comprehensive manual test cases for functional, integration, UI/UX, and regression testing.
• Perform end-to-end testing of web and mobile applications (iOS, Android, Hybrid) to ensure high-quality releases.

• Analyze requirements and user stories to create test scenarios and ensure clear, testable feature specifications.

• Participate in grooming and planning sessions to advocate for quality and contribute to testing estimates.

• Detect, document, and track software defects in coordination with developers and product teams.

• Ensure proper test data setup, and manage exploratory testing when automation is not applicable.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test documentation, and knowledge sharing.

• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders in English (and German, where required).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Solid hands-on experience in manual software testing in agile development environments.

• Proven ability to design, document, and execute test plans and test cases based on business and technical requirements.

• Familiarity with testing REST APIs using tools like Postman or Swagger.

• Understanding of QA methodologies, defect lifecycle, and agile software delivery principles (Scrum/Kanban).

• Experience with cross-platform testing on web and mobile applications.

• Upper-intermediate or higher level of spoken and written English.

• Upper-intermediate or higher level of spoken and written German.

Nice to have

• Exposure to or basic understanding of test automation concepts and tools such as Appium, Cucumber, RestAssured, or JMeter.

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Charles Proxy, Android Studio, or Xcode.

• Familiarity with BDD/TDD practices and collaboration in projects using them.

• Interest in growing into test automation over time.
