Job summary: As a FA&R Professional - Asset Accounting You will be responsible for performing the financial control activities for the Fixed Asset and leases related activities to ensures process efficiency, compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and IFRS. You will be owning the fixed asset and lease processing and resolution of all the queries raised, ensuring that all financial transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
What You will be doing:
Asset pecording & posting: understand the overall Acquire to Retire lifecycle; ensure timely and accurate posting of asset additions, retirements, transfers, and adjustments in SAP, in compliance with accounting standards, tax rules, and company policies. Ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded in the system.
Asset capitalization & adjustments: execute and manage capitalization of assets based on project completion or predefined criteria, ensuring compliance with IFRS/local GAAP; handle special adjustments such as impairment, revaluation, or componentization of assets when required.
Query management & issue resolution: responsible for resolution, timely updates, documentation, and closure of asset related queries; read and interpret asset-related documentation (e.g., contracts, purchase orders, project completion reports), collaborating closely with all required internal teams; lead the review and reconciliation of asset balances, construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts, and aged open items, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution in line with financial reporting requirements; manage any ad-hoc Fixed Asset related tasks.
Controls, compliance & risk management: ensure that asset transactions are processed in line with internal control frameworks, including segregation of duties, system-based controls, company policies, and legal requirements; ensuring the Fixed Asset module is fully reconciled.
Continuous improvement: contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and proposing improvement opportunities in asset recording, query handling, or platform usability; participate in User Acceptance Testing for new functionality or system changes related to Fixed Asset processes.
Position requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
Minimum 3 years' experience in General Ledger / Record to Report / fixed assets and financial reporting, including financial closing processes;
Strong communication skills in English (min. C1) and a good command of German (min. B2). practical experience in a finance shared services environment
Strong analytical skills and affinity for numbers;
advanced IT skills with experience in SAP (mandatory), SAP BW, ServiceNow, and Trintech Cadency (or equivalent);
Continuous improvement mindset with proven ability to optimize processes and increase efficiency;
Ability to deliver standardized, efficient, and value-adding financial services aligned with customer needs;
Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, preparation of financial analysis and reporting for
Internal and external requirements;
Support the embedding and sustainment of a culture that is high performing, prioritises people, consistently follows standard process whilst looking for controlled continuous improvement
