This position is key in handling the tax consequences of global mobility and facilitating a smooth transition for employees across different countries. Your main objective is to reduce tax-related risks and costs, while ensuring that both the organization and its employees adhere to relevant tax laws.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking experienced professionals to join our Global Mobility Tax team, specializing in German individual taxation. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage complex engagements while delivering high-quality outcomes.
Key responsibilities include: - Reviewing all types of German individual income tax returns.
- Demonstrating a high level of tax technical proficiency.
- Managing engagement teams, including setting performance metrics and ensuring engagement economics, turnaround times, and quality targets are met.
- Identifying and leading new services that can be delivered by the service line at VVN.
- Developing, mentoring, and supervising Associates and Specialists.
- Demonstrating strong leadership skills and executive presence.
- Communicating project progress and status updates to all stakeholders.
- Applying firm policies related to confidentiality, data privacy, client acceptance, engagement letters, tax return preparation guidelines, and knowledge-sharing.
- Consistently adhering to practice protocols and internal processes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Commerce Graduate/Postgraduate, MBA.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Sound technical knowledge with respect to German Individual taxes.
- Should have 3-5 years' experience in Global Mobility Tax in German individual taxation including at least 2 years of first-level review experience.
- Should have prior experience interacting with Foreign offices and assignees.
- Understanding of global mobility, including policies, processes, double taxation agreements, assessment notices and tax equalization process.
- Responding to technical queries from the team.
- Strong work ethic and ability to be self-directed
- Demonstrate empathy and patience when dealing with employees
- Adaptability and flexibility.
