Description At Olympics.com, we are looking for German Language Sports Editors who are ready for an opportunity editing/writing/translating the German language sections of the Milano Cortina 2026 Games-time website.
Duties & Responsibilities - Identifying, writing stories of localised interest for Olympic fans on olympics.com.
- Translating stories from English.
- Responsible for real-time publishing, updating of content in fast-paced, pressure-filled environment.
- Edit, revise, rewrite wire service copy as required during Games-time.
- Coordinate/collaborate with Editor in Chief, news editors, other language editors and MiCo 2026 colleagues on content ideas.
- Ensure all content meets IOC standards for integrity and production quality.
- Establish a consistent tone and voice, engaging and appealing to Olympic fans across all platforms.
Skills & Requirements - Proven track record and able to write sports publications in German.
- Solid news judgment, ability to think quickly and act appropriately under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of Olympic sports.
- Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and what drives fan interest.
- At ease in a multinational environment.
- Self-starter, plus ability to work in a team; adaptability in changing environment.
- Positive attitude, plus in sync with Olympic values of friendship, excellence, respect.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - diplomacy, tact and discretion.

- This role ideally requires someone who is already a registered freelancer and is available to start as soon as possible.
- This position is a full-time remote freelance opportunity that starts in September 2025 and lasts until March 2026.
- Work weekends, nights, holidays as required.
