Role OverviewAccounts Receivable Specialist plays an integral role in a company's financial operations.
By effectively managing accounts receivable, ensuring timely payment, and maintaining accurate records, an Accounts Receivable Specialist contributes to the overall success and financial stability of the organization.
What you will do- Generate and send customer invoices, statements, and payment reminders.
- Follow up and communicate with customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve billing and payment issues, including chargebacks, disputes, and refunds.
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues related to accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with the sales team and customer service department to address customer inquiries and resolve any issues impacting payment collection.
- Monitor and reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and prompt payment collection.
- Manage internal escalation calls regarding outstanding balances with numerous stakeholders
- Prepare and analyse accounts receivable aging reports to identify past due accounts and prioritize collection efforts.
- Maintain up-to-date customer records with accurate billing and contact information.
- Process and post customer payments, including checks, credit card payments, and electronic funds transfers.
- Define and review the Accounts Receivable process and propose best practices
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
Who you areSuccessful candidate is a team player and independent problem-solver. You are curious and look to correct root causes to prevent future service and financial impact. You have a knack for numbers, are very outcome oriented, and have strong prioritization skills. You have an excellent understanding of accounting practices and reconciliations. You are analytical, problem-solving, self-motivated, detail oriented and collaborative.
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience with collections, invoicing, and/or accounts receivable - at least 5 years
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications in particular Excel.
- Demonstrate strong organisation skills and strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy.
- Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry-specific billing and invoicing processes.
- Understanding of credit and collection practices and legal regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Multi-lingual - English and German are required, other European languages are desirable.
