JOB DESCRIPTION:

The SEO team at Back Market is on an exciting journey. While we continue to grow our organic visibility through high-quality content, we are now also pioneering Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) - optimizing for AI-powered search experiences (think ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and more). Every day, we learn something new, and our roadmap is ambitious.

As a SEO & GEO Content Intern, you will play a key role in growing our presence in the German market, while also supporting the global SEO Content team in rolling out international content strategies.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a team that sits at the crossroads of traditional SEO and the next generation of search.

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT):

Content Creation - German Market (50%)

• Write high-quality SEO and GEO-optimized content in German: buying guides, how-to articles, tech explainers, blog posts, and more
• Publish content using our homemade CMS and monitor ranking and traffic performance
• Adapt content to German culture, search behavior, and local nuances

Global SEO Content Support (30%)

• Collaborate with the global SEO Content team to help implement international content strategies
• Contribute to content templates, frameworks, and best practices that can scale across markets
• Leverage and contribute to our AI-powered content workflows, using cutting-edge tools to help scale content production efficiently across markets

GEO Exploration & Performance Measurement (20%)

• Explore and test GEO-specific content optimizations (structure, entities, citations, answer-style formats)
• Measure and report on both SEO performance (rankings, traffic, impressions) and GEO visibility (AI answer appearances, brand mentions in LLMs)
• Use tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and emerging GEO tracking tools to build meaningful reports

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF: ☆

• You are fluent in German - German culture and references hold no secrets for you (native or near-native level expected)
• You are looking for a 6-month internship (gap year or end of studies)
• English is a no-brainer (fully professional level); French is a plus
• You have outstanding copywriting skills and genuinely enjoy writing a lot
• You are comfortable with data and have strong analytical skills
• You are curious about the future of search - you don't need to be a GEO expert, but you should be excited to learn and experiment
• You are rigorous, methodical, and a real team player
• Familiarity with a CMS (WordPress, Shopify, or similar) is a plus

We are not looking for someone with extensive SEO knowledge - we are looking for someone who writes brilliantly, loves writing, and is eager to grow alongside a team that is actively shaping what SEO looks like in the age of AI.

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP:

• Start date: July 2026
• Duration : 6 months
• Full-time internship (35h/week)
• Location : Paris (France)
