Job DescriptionProject - the aim you'll have:You will join a dynamic cross-functional development team tasked with building and scaling enterprise-grade applications for our client, using modern Java technologies and cloud-native solutions. The main goal is to deliver robust, maintainable, and high-performance systems that are aligned with microservices architecture principles. As part of this project, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and observability of mission-critical applications deployed in Kubernetes environments.
Position - how you'll contribute:As a Java Engineer, you will play a key role in the development lifecycle by designing and implementing backend services and APIs using Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.x. You will actively participate in system architecture decisions, write clean and testable code, and integrate observability tools such as OpenTelemetry. By collaborating with DevOps, QA, and product stakeholders in Agile ceremonies, you will ensure the solutions are scalable, secure, and production-ready. Your work will directly impact the stability and performance of client-facing systems.
QualificationsExpectations - the experience you need:- 3-5 years of professional experience in Java development
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and using Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container orchestration with Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing (e.g., ELK stack, OpenTelemetry)
- Solid foundation in Git, Maven/Gradle, and testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Language Skills: Good communication skills in both German and English, written and spoken.
Additional skills - the edge you have:- Knowledge of event-driven architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Hands-on experience with Redis or Ehcache for caching strategies
- Familiarity with search engines like Elasticsearch or Apache Solr
- Basic frontend awareness (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support integration discussions
- A strong collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills
- Ability to contribute to architectural discussions and technical documentation
