Senior / Lead Platform Engineer (Cloud & DevOps) - German Speaking

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native solutions.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security, and operational excellence principles.
• Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Strong practical knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
• Good understanding of DevSecOps practices and cloud security concepts.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and networking fundamentals.
• German language skills at C1 level or higher.
• English language skills at B2 level or higher.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in distributed international teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience in multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Knowledge of GitOps methodologies and tools such as ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Experience with configuration management tools, especially Ansible.
• Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale production environments.
• Azure, Kubernetes, or cloud-related certifications.
• Previous experience acting as a Technical Lead, mentoring engineers, or leading platform initiatives.

The team focuses on building highly automated, scalable, secure, and reliable cloud platforms that empower development teams to deliver software faster and more efficiently.

As a Senior or Lead Platform Engineer, you will participate in the design and evolution of cloud-native platforms, implement automation initiatives, improve operational excellence, and contribute to platform standardization. Lead-level candidates will additionally influence cloud strategy, technical direction, and engineering best practices across multiple teams.

The environment emphasizes Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes-based platforms, modern CI/CD practices, observability, security, and continuous improvement.

Scope of Services

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
• Build, optimize, and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
• Manage containerized workloads running on Kubernetes platforms.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions.
• Improve platform reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Investigate and resolve infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technology evaluations.
• Drive DevOps and Platform Engineering best practices across engineering teams.
• Support knowledge-sharing initiatives and mentor less experienced engineers.
