Sr. Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist - German speaking

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team. This is a very interesting and diverse role which supports our European production sites.

As a Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate and professional processing of all daily customs formalities and operations for our customs operations in Europe specifically covering our locations in Germany, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, You will be the point of contact for import and export and provide advice on operational matters and support in resolving issues.

In this role, you will work independently as well as in a team in ensuring compliance of AEO certification, authorizations and permits.
The scope of this role includes daily customs and trade operations, ensuring customs compliance and pro-actively supporting and advising the EAME-business with continuous improvement activities and solve issues.

The preferred location for this role is at our Budapest office but can also be based in other location in central or eastern Europe where we have a presence.

What You will be doing:

• Ensure customs compliancy (AEO and customs licenses) for our major production sites in Europe.
• Support local and EMEA business on customs and trade issues / opportunities.
• Lead and participate in projects to implement trade compliance programs and import and export operations.
• Provide overall guidance and training to the business and help them to meet regulatory requirements in doing business.
• Lead disciplined import and export operations by using right systems and processes and conduct self-audit programs.
• Monitor, track and report customs and savings metrics.
• Drive cost savings, especially in customs duty savings from FTAs, duty incentive and other programs.
• Customs & Trade specialist at local level for solving operation disputes, identify root causes and set up action plan by working with external suppliers and (internal) customers.

Who You are:

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Customs, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or equivalent relevant experience
• We will rely on your knowledge of customs and excise procedures in the EMEA region and preferrable in Germany.
• You have a strong knowledge of local, international trading, and import and export regulations.
• The preferred candidate will have minimum 5 years' experience in customs operations.
• The preferred candidate will have SAP-GTS, or similar system, functionality experience including e-customs.
• Fluent in English and German for verbal and written communications.
