Application Operations Engineer with German (Third Party Products) (m/f/diverse)

Your tasks

• Developing automated system installations and configuration, based on a central configuration management system;

• Developing and maintaining interfaces to several dozen other internal and external systems;

• Monitoring of the production environment;

• Keeping approx. 120 development and test environments for more than 100 Java developers up and running;

• Supporting system development and software deployments in test and production environments;

• Conducting analysis and log research to identify and troubleshoot errors, requiring both process skill and a deep understanding of the technologies used;

• Communicating and collaborating on operational solutions and improvements with multi-lingual teams based in Europe;

• Assisting in defining operational best practices and ensuring compliance with quality assurance measures;

• Analyzing problems and collaborating closely with other teams to find solutions and derive long term optimizations in case of incidents.

Your Profile

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines in complex environments.

• Proficiency in performing log analysis and error investigation using tools to diagnose issues.

• Skills in monitoring and logging cloud services, including Stackdriver (Logging, Monitoring, Trace, Error Reporting).

• Understanding of core cloud computing concepts and services, specifically for GCP, including Virtual Machines (Compute Engine), Kubernetes (GKE), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run and logging in cloud environments.

• Knowledge of secure network architecture and design in both GCP and Commerzbank environments, including Load Balancing, Subnets, Firewalls, VPNs, and VPCs.

• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python which are useful for scripting and application development.

• Understanding of banking regulations and requirements that impact operational procedures and deployments.

• Fluently speaking and writing in English and German.

The comdirect IT (Technology Base & Services) is part of the Key Area GS-CODE (comdirect Delivery) and is responsible for developing, deploying and operating the "comdirect Platform", an application and infrastructure system which supports nearly 3 million online and mobile customers. The main goal is to create a stable, secure, and scalable platform for self-directed customers to use banking and especially brokerage use cases.
