Key Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and moderate user-generated content on a major social media platform, ensuring full compliance with community standards, platform policies, and legal requirements for German-speaking markets.
• Identify and action policy-violating content including misinformation, hate speech, graphic material, harassment, and fraud across social media channels.
• Investigate complex trust and safety cases, escalating high-risk or sensitive issues to the appropriate internal teams in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provide clear, consistent, and policy-aligned decisions regarding content removal, user warnings, account restrictions, and bans on the social media platform.
• Monitor emerging trends, coordinated inauthentic behaviour, and potential threats within the German-language social media ecosystem, providing actionable insights to the team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, policy, and engineering to continuously improve trust and safety processes and workflows.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of cases reviewed, decisions made, and actions taken in line with platform operational requirements.
• Participate in regular calibration sessions, team briefings, and ongoing training to stay aligned with evolving community guidelines and best practices in digital trust and safety.

Requirements

• Native or fluent German language skills (both spoken and written) are mandatory for this role.
• Valid EU passport is required (mandatory for relocation and employment eligibility).
• Strong proficiency in English for internal communications, reporting, and team collaboration.
• Prior experience in content moderation, trust and safety, digital compliance, or a related field within social media or online platforms is highly advantageous.
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills with a high degree of attention to detail and consistency.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive, graphic, or emotionally challenging content in a professional and resilient manner, with a commitment to personal well-being.
• Strong understanding of online community standards, digital safety principles, and the social media landscape, particularly in German-speaking regions.
