We are anticipating the upcoming opening of a Java Backend Engineer w/ AWS within our local tech team in Portugal.

The team consists of highly experienced individuals organized in several agile product teams with deep competences in cutting-edge media technologies, cloud tools, product management, software development and IT operations.
We are looking for engineers with "application-owner" mindset, who are excited to take end-to-end responsibility for the systems that they are developing - "you build it, you own it, you run it".

What you can expect in this role

• You are part of engineering culture that emphasizes Clean Code, Test-Driven-Development (TDD) and continuous refactoring.
• You contribute to creating large software systems that are extendible, and you apply Domain-Driven-Design (DDD), Clean Architecture and various Object-Oriented Enterprise Design Patterns to keep code modular and readable.
• You interact directly with end-users and work on the full product development lifecycle (from gathering requirements to testing and deployment), to deliver solutions to their business problems with a DevOps mentality.
• Our tech stack: Java 17, Spring Framework, JUnit, RSocket, TypeScript, Vue.js 3 (Vite, Vuex, Vuetify), Vitest, OpenAPI, MapStruct, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, Nginx.

Your essential experience and education

• You have 4+ years of experience designing and developing large software applications.
• Must-haves: Java; Spring Framework; Typescript, and either Vue.js/Angular or React.js.
• Nice-to-haves: Docker; DynamoDB; SQS/SNS; Lambda; Python; AWS; OpenAPI.
• You have profound experience in building production-quality software in teams and can autonomously tackle complex problems.
• Experience and knowledge in Agile methodologies.
• Experience working through the full product development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Fluent in English (Portuguese and/ or German language proficiency is a plus).
