Role Overview
Data Edge is looking for a Senior Integration Architect to lead nearshore delivery teams and support complex solution and IT architecture initiatives.

The role requires strong expertise in integration, middleware, enterprise application integration, Java-based platforms, container orchestration, CI/CD, automation, and API design. The Senior Integration Architect will be responsible for shaping integration solutions, guiding delivery teams, supporting architecture decisions, and ensuring that technical designs are scalable, reliable, and aligned with enterprise standards.

This role requires excellent communication skills in both English and German, as the consultant will work closely with international stakeholders, technical teams, and business representatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead nearshore integration teams and provide technical direction across solution and IT architecture topics.
• Design and review integration architectures based on enterprise requirements, middleware platforms, APIs, and system integration patterns.
• Support enterprise application integration initiatives using technologies such as Apache Camel, Java, WebSphere MQ, and related middleware components.
• Define and validate API designs using OpenAPI, REST, WSDL, and enterprise API standards.
• Provide architectural guidance on Java-based solutions, including JDK, JVM, runtime behaviour, performance, and deployment considerations.
• Support containerised and cloud-native environments using Docker, Kubernetes, and preferably AKS / Azure.
• Contribute to CI/CD and automation practices using tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and related delivery pipelines.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, DevOps, security, and business teams to ensure alignment between architecture and implementation.
• Lead technical workshops, design sessions, troubleshooting activities, and failure analysis.
• Support subproject management activities in system integration projects, including planning, coordination, issue tracking, and delivery governance.
• Coach and guide technical team members, supporting knowledge sharing and delivery quality.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, architecture documentation, and stakeholder communications.

Required Skills and Experience

• Excellent German and English communication skills.
• Strong experience as a Senior Integration Architect, Solution Architect, or IT Architect in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on background in Java, including JDK, JVM, and Java-based integration platforms.
• Solid experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
• Strong knowledge of Apache Camel.
• Good understanding of integration and middleware technologies.
• Experience with API design, including OpenAPI, REST, and WSDL.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application integration patterns, system integration, and distributed architectures.
• Ability to lead technical teams and coordinate delivery across nearshore or distributed environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, failure analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in banking or financial services environments.
• Strong enterprise application integration experience.
• Experience with Azure, AKS, or cloud-native architecture on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with Quarkus.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ or similar messaging platforms.
• Experience with test automation and automated validation of integration flows.
• Familiarity with regulated enterprise environments and complex stakeholder structures.

Leadership and Soft Skills

• Strong team-building and coaching capabilities.
• Ability to moderate workshops, technical discussions, and design sessions.
• Experience with Design Thinking or structured problem-solving methods.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.

Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior-level Integration Architect with strong technical depth in Java, middleware, APIs, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and enterprise integration. They should be comfortable leading nearshore teams, working in international environments, and communicating fluently in both German and English.

This role is best suited for someone who combines hands-on architecture expertise with strong leadership, stakeholder management, and delivery coordination skills.
