Payroll Specialist with German

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage payroll month-end close process, prepare payroll reports and controls to ensure smooth payroll authorization.
• Ensure accuracy of data and salary calculations through validating payroll results, performing payroll quality checks, creating payroll reconciliations.
• Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies independently or with the vendor.
• Maintain close contact with internal and external auditors to ensure payroll calculations.
• Managing payroll-related queries from employees, HR, Finance, and management.
• Coordinating year-end activities and statutory reporting.
• Supporting payroll projects, process improvements, and system changes.
• Maintaining payroll procedures, work instructions, and governance documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with payroll policies, tax regulations, social security requirements, and labour law.
• Maintaining and applying knowledge of local labour law, collective agreements, statutory payments, leave regulations, and other employment-related requirements.
• Providing payroll guidance to HR and employees on payroll-related legal and regulatory matters.
• Participate in payroll tests and checks on the setting of the new payroll system to ensure the best possible payroll accuracy.

Why You?

Necessary Qualifications & Skills:

• At least 2 years of experience in German payroll processing (Exposure to Austrian, Swiss, or other international payroll environments is considered a nice-to-have)
• Understanding of payroll principles and processes, with a strong foundation in payroll legislation, statutory requirements, and employment law.
• Fluent German and good English
• Good knowledge and practice in using MS Office
• Ability to perform the tasks in compliance with existing procedures, strong internal customer focus, excellent communication skills as well as proactiveness

Preferred Qualifications & Skills (but not a must):

• Experience working with or as a vendor
• Experience with SAP, ServiceNow and Workday
