Job Description

Our client is a trusted partner in the German financial and banking sector, supporting a large-scale IT landscape used by thousands of users and powering business-critical applications. Operating in a highly regulated environment, the organization places a strong emphasis on governance, security, and operational excellence.

To further strengthen its SAP Finance capabilities, our client is looking for an experienced SAP FI/CO Consultant to join an international team and contribute to the implementation, enhancement, and optimization of key financial processes.

Qualifications

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced SAP FI/CO Functional Consultant to support and further develop an existing SAP ERP landscape, with a strong focus on SAP Financial Accounting (FI).

The role combines SAP Application Management, functional consulting, customizing, and operational support, working closely with business stakeholders to ensure stable financial processes and continuously improve the existing SAP environment.

In addition to day-to-day application management activities, you will contribute to system enhancements, data migration topics, and the preparation of the landscape for a future SAP S/4HANA transformation.

Your Responsibilities:

SAP FI/CO Application Management

• Maintain, support, and further develop the existing SAP FI/CO landscape, with a primary focus on SAP FI.
• Support business units with operational, system-related, and process-related topics in their day-to-day activities.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into suitable SAP solutions.
• Ensure stable and efficient financial processes across the SAP environment.

Customizing & Process Integration

• Perform customizing and configuration activities within SAP FI/CO.
• Support and optimize financial processes and their integration with other SAP modules and external systems.
• Analyze and maintain relevant interfaces and process dependencies.
• Support the implementation of new or changed business and accounting requirements.

Application Support & Operational Processes

• Analyze and resolve functional issues and errors occurring during ongoing operations.
• Handle and process incidents, service requests, and change requests related to SAP FI/CO.
• Provide functional support in areas such as:
  • General Ledger (GL)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • invoice verification and invoice-related processes
  • payment transactions and payment processing
  • ISO 20022 payment-related topics
  • financial workflows
  • data imports and data corrections
• Support the setup and integration of new subsidiaries and company codes.

SAP Enhancements & Transformation

• Continuously optimize and enhance the existing SAP ERP/ECC environment.
• Support functional and technical topics related to data migration and data transformation.
• Work with migration and legacy-data topics, including LSMW.
• Support topics related to New General Ledger (New GL) and Business Partner integration.
• Contribute to system improvements and preparation activities related to the future SAP S/4HANA transformation.
• Collaborate with technical teams, developers, business stakeholders, and other SAP functional consultants on cross-functional topics.

Your Profile:

• Several years of hands-on experience as an SAP FI/CO Functional Consultant, SAP FI Consultant, or in a comparable SAP Application Management role.
• Strong functional knowledge of SAP FI, ideally covering several areas such as GL, AP, AR, payments, and financial accounting processes.
• Practical experience with SAP FI customizing and configuration.
• Good understanding of end-to-end financial processes and their representation within SAP.
• Experience in Application Management / AMS environments, including incident analysis, troubleshooting, and change requests.
• Experience with SAP ERP / ECC environments.
• Knowledge of data migration and data import processes, ideally including LSMW.
• Good understanding of New GL and related financial processes.
• Experience with Business Partner concepts is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ISO 20022, payment processes, workflows, or invoice-related processes is highly beneficial.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or participation in an S/4HANA transformation/migration is considered a strong advantage.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance implementations, migrations, or transformation projects.
• Knowledge of cross-functional processes and integrations with other SAP modules, such as SD, MM, CO, or Treasury.
• Experience working in highly regulated industries, such as Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance.
• Strong German language skills (at least B2-C1 level).
• Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into SAP solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
