We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join our Germany Accounting team as a Senior Accountant (m/f/d). This is a full-time, permanent position offering the flexibility to work 100% remotely from anywhere in Poland.

You will be part of our Germany Accounting team, supporting German clients while working remotely from Poland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the administration, bookkeeping and preparation of financial statements for
  various Germany companies (including extensive work with German GAAP/ HGB and Datev software)
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
• Prepare interim accounts on behalf of the client as necessary
• Liaise and interact with clients, other offices and client advisors, in order to prepare the financial statements
• Support the audit of financial statements (where required)
• Support the preparation of VAT / CIT returns (where required)
• Support the preparation of financial reports (Local GAAP, US GAAP or IFRS) (where required)

Attributes/Technical Skills:

• Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties including lawyers, bankers, tax advisors and notaries
  Be a team player and be supportive towards your colleagues
  Take initiative by proactively following up on daily matters
  Anticipate potential queries and issues. Address these queries in a timely manner by informing the responsible Senior Manager, Accountant and/or Relationship Manager
  Be a role model to less senior colleagues in terms of professionalism and behaviour
  Ensure that client deadlines are met
  Adhere to internal procedures at all times

Relevant Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience with a professional services firm
• Strong experience working with German GAAP is required.
• Experience with IFRS, consolidation and/or US GAAP would be an advantage
• Extensive hands-on experience with HGB in daily accounting work is required
• Practical experience with Datev is required
• Basic knowledge of German VAT law is reqired
• Previous experience working in a tax consultancy firm in Germany would be a strong advantage, but is not required
• Excellent communication and organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
• Strong relationship management skills
• Proactive with a client service orientated attitude
• Ability to develop and grow our commercial business activity

Education and Professional Qualification:

• University degree in Accounting/Finance, (ACCA-qualified or part qualified would be a distinct advantage)
