Job Purpose

As Technical Sales Sr. Professional your main focus is to further develop the sales and define the commercial objectives for our Electroplating market and customers in the East and South of France in coordination with the West region. You will work within your own customer portfolio with diverse type of customers with very different needs (technical and decorative applications) and within diverse technologies (Printed circuit boards, connectors, aeronautic, defense, luxury, automotive). With a high emphasis on Customer service with frequent travel to visit your (potential) customers on site.

You will also assist and provide Technical Consultancy for our customers in the Middle East region and Maghreb as well as for some important projects in close cooperation with the team in Germany. You will look at potentially other opportunities to develop and grow the market and customer base in other areas in the EU.

This interesting and independent role can be based anywhere in the South / East France region, working remotely, with frequent travel to customers and Umicore locations (Paris, Germany).

Your Key Accountabilities

• Define the commercial objectives and the commercial policy of Electroplating in East and South of France in coordination with the West region and according the UMICORE Electroplating commercial policy.
• Manage with your colleague of West France area the sales administration assistance for the electroplating activities, coordinate activities for French customers with the German headquarters (sales administration, logistic, financial service, quality and laboratories).
• Ensure the development of the sales for the UMICORE Electroplating processes and the processes represented in Europe in France East and South, with customer visits and commercial follow-up, when necessary in collaboration with the Umicore Electroplating products managers.
• Provide continuously the technical assistance, for Electroplating processes and on the production lines in France (mainly East and South and when necessary in the West area) in situ and by telephone (often urgently needed because production stops), the advice and the technical follow-up of the commercialized processes.
• Ensure Customer Assistance and Technical Consultancy in France and occasionally other countries for some important projects in close cooperation with German headquarter.

Who we are looking for

• Engineering education or experience in Materials/ Electro-chemistry ( or similar)
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in surface treatment
• Combination of Technical expertise with Sales / Customer Skills
• Willingness to travel
• Experience in Technical Sales / Customer service in relevant industries
• Fluent in French and English. Other languages would be a plus
